Summer Day Camp: Community Life of the Past

Historic Washington State Park will be hosting five days of day camp activities for children on June 19-23, 2023. Communities are an important part of life that bind people together through various activities and beliefs. This five-day camp will feature a look at some of the daily activities of people in the 19th century community of Washington, Arkansas. Hands-on and interactive activities will take place daily. All supplies and lunch are provided by the park. Some activities will include learning the basics of the printing press, the art of the blacksmith trade, nineteenth century games, and the care of animals that transported people from place to place. Day Camp is for children 6-12 years of age. Cost for attendance to the day camp is $125 per child which includes a lunch each day and supplies. The camp will go from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. each day.
